Starting production, the professional will choose the soil to be used. Any type of soil can be used for the production of ecological bricks. However, the most beneficial is the sandy soil. It usually has about 60% to 80% sand, and 20% to 40% clay. The characteristics improve the material’s ability to absorb moisture.

Once the soil has been chosen, it must be prepared. If it has clods, that is, hard and dry parts, the soil should be crushed. There is a specific machine for this step, which can optimize the process time.

Straw, cane bagasse or similar ingredients can also be added. Then, it is necessary to humidify the mixture, adding water gradually. This will prevent the product from getting too wet, which would require more portions of the other ingredients.

Step by step manual production
